In this chapter Tree-ear finds out that the royal emissary was on a tour to the potters village. He doesn't know if he should tell Min about Kang's idea. If he tells Min about Kang's better style. Min might be able to sell more pottery to the royal emissary if he listens to . As usual he asked crane-man for advice.

I decided to investigate what time period of Korea ’s history there were in and more about the period. I found out that the book is set in the Goryeo period. In this period of time in Korea ’s history Korea did very well in many ways but then later in the time period the Mongols attacked and to survive Korea became part of china’s Yuan Dynasty.
