1. What would it be your reaction if Min, after his son died, would blame you calling you the "orphaned one"?

Group's reaction:
They would be disappointed but knowing that Min had h rights to do it, but i was still rue from him.

2. What do you think about what Min projected to protect the vases from breaking? How is it called?

Group's reaction:
From the point that silk is expensive, they think hat Min was sure that it would have worked. It was called jiggeh.

3. Why do you think Min and Ajima gave Tree-ear a piece of clay?

Group's reaction:
To keep him occupied, and not make him bored during the long walk he ha to make.

4. What would you do if you were Tree-ear when you would have seen the fox in front of you?

Group's reaction:
Waved the fire in front of the fox, to make it scared.

5. If you were Tree-ear, what would you do when the two robbers broke Min's vases?

Group's reaction:
They would have adjusted them.

I decided to investigate Korean superstitions. This relates to the book because Tree-ear meets a fox which many people have strange superstations about (it kills you). Some superstitions that I found were

· Writing a person’s name in red ink is a sign of death

· If you die in a dream or dream about a pig you will have good luck in real life

· If you cut your hair you will grow taller

· If you touch your eyes after touching your mouth or a butterfly you will go blind

· If you die in water you will never find your way to the afterlife

· If a child loses a tooth it must be thrown on the roof

· 4 is unlucky (this is because the Korean word for four is pronounced very similarly to the Chinese word for death

Summary

Chapter 9

In this chapter Tree-ear gets offended when Min tells him that he has no one to teach his pottery abilities. A few days later Min and Tree-ear organize a journey. Mins wife who is coming with them helps to put silk around the pottery so it does not breake. Crane man helps Mins wife with the hard work. The silk layers stayed together and the vases did not breake.

Chapter 10

In the 10^th chapter Tree-ear starts his journey. It is hard for him because he has to make sure that the vases don’t breake. His first night ends with him sleeping in the forest, behind two large rocks. When he hears a noise that came out of nowhere a weird fox appears. The fox runs away after a few seconds thought. When Tree-ear reaches another village he decides to take a look.

In chapter 11 Tree-ear has to go through a hard time. He has to fight against two men who stole all of his money. The vases were destroyed too but Tree-ear did not care. He took some clay and pottered new vases. He brought one to the royal emissary.
