Summary
In the third chapter tree-ear starts working for Min. Min's wife starts giving Tree-ear a bowl with food. on the first day, Tree-ear struggles with the thought if he should share the food with Crane-man or not. One of the tasks he has to do for the day is to go cut and bring the clay to Min's house.
In the fourth chapter Tree-ear taking his own bowl to Min's house because he wants to take part of the food home to Crane-man. Although he tries really hard to hide the bowl, wild animals find it and eat the food. Tree-ear is more successful on the second day of work. The boy was getting better at cutting and he didn't get as dirty as before. After a while he even started glazing the pottery.
In the fifth chapter Tree-ear tries to figure out two things. Why did Kang and why is the bowl always full when Tree-ear gets back from work. Winter was slowly arriving when Min's wife gave him some warm clothes. The jacket that Min's wife gave him was to big for Tree-ear, so he gave it to Crane-man.

Conector to history

I believe that this part of the novel connected to history because in the book and in Korea’s past there were social classes and it was very hard to move from a lower class to a higher class.

Investigator

I decided to investigate the social class structure of Korea at this time. I found out that there were four main social classes. The yangban (scholar officials),chungin (middle people),sangmin(craftsmen),and ch’ommin(despised people(bottom class)). Latter this was runind by an invasion by the Japanese.
